The community has benefited from her involvement with youth as a mentor with Salem schools, at Hillcrest Youth Correctional Facility and volunteers in the Oncology and Hematology wing at Doernbecher Children's Hospital and is a Chemo Pal for a child as a volunteer with the Children's Cancer Association. Phyllis does outreach volunteering for The Compassionate Friends support group.
Phyllis enjoys weight lifting, riding her Saddlebred Mare, golf and other outdoor activities while enjoying nature.with Annie and Adeline.
